Cindy and Dave Hahne – Serve the City PeninsulaCindy has been an indirect supporter of Serve the City since its inception and an active part of the Global Operations Team since 2016. She is the city leader for Serve the City Newport News which started in 2017 and changed its name to Serve the Coty Peninsula in March 2020. She loves Jesus and has a heart for serving others locally and abroad. She enjoys experiencing new adventures, skiing, reading, and spoiling her grandkids. She is married to Dave (COO for STC Int’l), mother of two grown children, Nicole and Ben, and Grammy to Ever and Wilder.
Dave has been an indirect supporter of Serve the City since its inception and an active part of the Global Operations Team since 2016. He has been active in serving others from an early age through Scouting, his church, overseas missions trips, and now Serve the City in Virginia. A retired NASA engineer and project manager, Dave has been a space enthusiast from the early 60's, an amateur astronomer, and a self-proclaimed tech geek. His more earthly hobbies include woodworking, skiing, and sailing. He is married to Cindy (city leader for Serve the City Peninsula) and father of two grown children, Nicole and Ben.
Big volunteer week every summer and large projects monthly as well.
Big Serve Week...
Kindness starts with me..
You individually, your church, your group.
"Kindness has not been cancelled and Covid cannot kill compassion."
Neighbors serving neighbors.
How specifically does Serve the City engage other Churches and non-profits to get those volunteers?
Are there ways that you have seen churches impacted by participating in Serve the City?
Thats a wonderful concept!
The true working of evangelism
Through serving together we create community which opens doors to share our faith.
Unique to each city... needs vary and solutions are individually targeted.
Core Values of STC:
Shalom to the Hahnes! I truly honor You practicing the Virtues of Yeshua: Caring , Compassion, Generosity, Helpfulness, Purposefulness, and more! You are doing what my Virtuous Queen Bride, Linda "Duchess" and I have been advocating for 20 years. We are Facilitators of the global model program (recognized by the UN Secretariat) called the Virtues Project! In addition to acts of compassion and kindness, we add to faith Virtue! There are 52 Virtues in total that we teach!
Motivate & Mobilize your Staff
Your youth group
“We know them by their needs, what if we knew them by their names?” - STC - speaks to the goal of building relationships between volunteers and those we serve. In other words - not a “one off.”
Small groups in a church can build community and a deeper bond and love for one another.
Thank you for an informative interview and sharing of community resources. Need to leave the call for business reasons. Have a great, blessed and productive week!
